On the test below, you should notice that the Apex has alot more air and less bottom (it had even less with the original transformer.
The modified Apex has a 4-position DIP switch that allows the following options:
- Neuman SM-69 and partially modified Apex-460 (Cinemag xfrmr), left and right, repectively (mp3)
- Neuman SM-69 and partially modified Apex-460 (Cinemag xfrmr), AH Loop test (wav)
- SW-1 = Cathode bypass cap IN or OUT (-6dB gain)
- SW-2 = mild prescence roll-off #1
- SW-3 = gentle AIR roll-ff
- SW-4 = mild presence roll-off #2
